[Streamyx] Constant disconnect and bad torrent D/L & U/L

Hi,

I am using XP and got a free modem from TMNET, Billion BiPAC 5112S.

I have constant disconnection and also my torrent D/L terribly suck!

Technician had came over my house 5 times, tested wire, spliter and at last change to a new modem, still it occur same symptom. What is the problem?

Anyone can advise how to solve my constant d/c and also torrent D/L?

first of all,

check your phone line for noises. if you can hear to a lot pops and crackles whilst making a call, most probably you need to re-wire your phone lines. but your best would be call up telekom (dial 100) >> kerosakan rangkaian >> and tell them you have been having constant disconnection and that your dsl light is blinking.

for torrent d/load, it is known for streamyx to be very slow in this because they have recently enforced a somewhat bandwidth shaping/throttle againts P2P apps.

Wow, that's new to me and now I guess I know why :P I agree with your comments, most of the copper lines in this country are centuries old and it can be a source for the disconnection issue.

Cheers!!!

Don't connect phones to your line. This slows down your connection.( I've tested it)
