More importantly

They are only choosing to have competiton in cities that they have the largest customer base in. Time Warner currently charges up to $85/month for cable modems in Farmington Hill, MI. Allowing a competing ISP would mean people could get satellite for TV saving them over 20% a month and cable modems for $40/month. Time Warner can survive like that in their bigger cities, but not in clusters of just 4 suburbs. There overhead is way too high. This is why "Open Access" is a fraud.

According to ABC news and Good Morning America, it wouldn't kill Detroit to get out from behind that PC monitor and take a walk:

"Among "fat cities," Houston ranks No. 1, followed by Chicago, Detroit, Philadelphia and Dallas, according to results released this morning on Good Morning America."

I wonder if there is a direct link between broadband internet users and obesity?

Well then Farmington Hills must be bucking the trend because our broadband access sucks big time, thanks to the bastards at Time Warner Cable.
