I just have a ? about the screen. It says "17 in TFT". Is that correct? I thought the 6000 came with the 15.4 and the 9000 came with the 17.

I have no idea where any of the original disc's are. This machine originally had Vista but I preferred XP so that's what it has on it now. Its a fresh XP Pro install so there is no reason why you couldnt just create a system restore point from where its at now.

I'd be buying this machine for resale, not for personal use. No doubt, your dv6000t has a Vista COA attached to it. I'd have to restore Vista and ship the original install disk to my customer with the laptop.

Any other arrangement violates copyright.

Not necessarily...

If the laptop comes with Vista Business they can legally "upgrade" to XP Pro. I googled the 1st link for you - »forums.microsoft.com/Tec ··· iteID=17

Thank you for the reference to TechNet. I have studied the entire conversation in that article. No matter how you cut it, you MUST be in possession of the install media when you sell a computer and you must supply that media to the end user.

The laptop is being sold in this thread with a working OS installed, but NO installation media is being supplied by the seller with the machine.

I am not the end user. I am a reseller. The legal relationships are different.

A. I agree that the origional media is a must

B. Some manufacturers do not include the media to begin with (recoverable hdd partition etc., my Acer was that way)

C. As mentioned previously if you purchased the media it could be a legal sale. A 40$ hit off the asking price for both machines could equal the cost.

I'm not trying to dock ya or point out flaws. I'm trying to let ya know that there are other methods to having XP install legally with a vista COA. ^_^ That is all...

How could he buy such an expensive laptop and don't know where the media is? The seller is a regular on this site.

I would suggest cutting about $100 off and let the new owner buy the operating system. But thats just my opinion.
