Just for an experiment of something to try. Use the MAC address off the drive device an assign a static IP in your router's range/scope and see if it will remain visible across the network then.

| I found the MAC address on the back of the drive but I am not quite sure I follow you on using the MAC address. I know you can go into the drive setup and assign a static IP.
I did try making the workgroup name the same as the 2 computers in the network but no success. |
