Re: Service problems at multiple VoIP providers today?

I've been having inbound issues with Packet8 all day on a Level3 issued number. Outbound is working perfectly.

Only having problems with calls placed from Verizon and ATT. Alltel phones work perfectly.

No noticeable problems with VoicePulse.
I don't believe they use L3.

I was told L3's IP LD platform had an "event" today and lost all of it's routes. It seemed mostly corrected by mid-afternoon central time.

Callcentric had no known issues today related to voice quality or dropped calls...

Please, should anything affecting quality occur - open a trouble-ticket for the issue to be troubleshooted.

Service problems at multiple VoIP providers ~11/20/08?

Today, I have experienced various unusual events including dropped calls, failed calls, repeated incoming disconnects.

Unusual also in that this was with several carriers including Voip.MS, callwithus, and CallCentric.

Occurred at two different locations, by the way, hence two different routers. ISP is OptimumOnline at both locations, but that's been fine.

Over at the ViaTalk forum, there is a posting today about a problem with Level3's fiber network causing failed calls. I wonder if this is a general problem, because Level3 serves so many carriers.

Anybody else having problems?
