If the general direction of new switches are not going to support 10Mbps, then I will think about investing on more expensive 100Mbps-capable devices, although I doubt we'll ever use that kind of bandwidth.
10 Mbps UTP Ethernet will be around for a long time for the simple reason it does not cost extra to support but may result in a lost sale if backward compatibility is removed.

What gear do you have in mind? 10 Mbps support seems pretty common but then I have not done an exhaustive search.

If anything commercial space will be last bastion of 10 Mbps Ethernet, heck some companies are still using Thinwire.
