Well I am lucky now. Dropped my dish network, and my wave broadband and now using Surewest Fiber IPTV and broadband. Get more channels and consistant 18 meg down and 16-18 meg up, its night and day. Stupid thing is, wave called me the day before I was having fiber installed to let me know they had "fixed" my upload speed, seems there was a configuration issue on the blade server. I asked how long it had been an issue as I had speed problems for a year, they said its fixed now!! Was pretty disappointed but hey that was final nail for me. Seriously I have a CM100 cable modem for sale if anyone wants to make me an offer!!!

I believe only the 18/2 service has monthly cap. As far as I can tell the 10/1 service is unlimited, at least for now. |

Well looks like it was my cable modem. I have had 4 modems in the last 5 days all doing the same. But as someone pointed out earlier I purchased a CM100 linksys and my speeds are MUCH better. Just now however fiber is available. 20 down and 20 up, time i switch. Anyone want to buy a partially used Linksys CM100???  ) |

I have run speed checks on local server and speedtest and getting good downloads (upto 19meg) and 1.2 down (i have issues with down speed but thats not the question).

All of the people I've talked to at tech support are great and don't give me any grief about having a bunch of computers behind a router or make me boot into safe mode for problems or any of the stupid Microsoft troubleshooting procedures (reboot, reinstall, etc.)
When first installed I went with the rented surfboard modem and was getting very slow upload speeds (~100-200kbps) on a 18/2 plan. Download speeds where always around 14-17mbps which I think is reasonable for that plan and being a shared service. They quickly scheduled a truck to come check out the "noisy line" that they could see from looking at the modem from tech support. I put my Linksys cm100 on-line and BAM!, I'm running at 17/2.25 fairly consistently (download always fluctuates a lot, but upload is consistent).
I'm happy, and will be even happier when they come fix the noise cable coming to the house so my TV looks better.  |

Hi lots of problems are from the main office. i to have the same problem and i have business account. wave dont care if thay did thay would fixit. lots of my friends have comcast and thay love them. 50x10!! im jealous. comcast speeds even on peak time his speeds are 47 x 9.0 wow! i give up on wave i get what i get. when qwest gos up on speed ill change. qwest were i live only have 1.5 good luck all. you are in the wave broadband zone! |

I've been having horrible problems too. Slow during peak hours and bad signals.
I have another post about attempting to install a new modem with no luck from Wave and tonight, just like every night anymore, download speeds down to 1/6th of what they should be. We're seriously considering Qwest DSL, though I really don't want to.

I've had same problem over last 4-6 weeks in Sacramento area. Their tech support people are either idiots or don't want to tell us the truth. All they do is deny there is a problem and give you a new modem. Even stranger because when I would have this problem, I would call tech support and they would ask me to wait while they did "something" on their end, and then it would magically work again for a few days. Then I would call back, they would do something, and it would work again for a few days, all the while they would deny it's problem on their end.
Luckily it seems to be working fine for the last couple weeks, so I guess I'll just hold my breath and hope that it keeps working.

I have the same problem. It happens very often during the day and I have to unplug my modem and plug it back in. I have had someone come out to the house to check on this and they gave me a newer modem and told me that the problem will be fixed now. It still happens =/ |

Their CS and Tech Support people have no clue what's going on. At least they didn't when they rolled out the caps (aka "New Plans") in Sacramento area. Took them about 2-3 weeks to figure what was going on. So sounds like you're next. Although, sounds like they may only be going after Torrent users in your area. They went after everyone down here.
However, as far as I can tell, the caps only apply to the 18/2 300 Gigabyte plan in Sacramento area. I'm not on that plan and there is still no way for me to check my transfer quotas. Going to be pissed if they try to bill be for going over quota if there is no way for me to check my quota.

hi all i feel you if i had a quarter for all the times i had to call wave i could retire hehehe . i have nothing but speed problems with my clients and ever since i made my speed change to the new speed. this is going to be my "LAST" month with wave i have an online company that gives me the power i need and a monthly charge of the same as wave if i go over my data transfer of 300 a month.well looks like one more person that wouldn't be on there pay roll. what i dont get is how can thay not have anuff power for each node? unless you equipment is not set right or can't handle the strain it gets when everyone is connected? i can see 10/20/30/% loss for some just depends on how far you are from the office but for me i live 1 1/2 blocks from main office for goodness sakes! still no answer from wave. i would stay if thay would tell the truth about what is going on but for other with 18m x 2m good luck save your money and get less speed. or get comcast. or what ever just my 2 cents!!!! |

howdy! right now wave is trying to upgrade there equipment to handle there upgrade to 18m x2m ! which means that everyone isn't getting enuff down or upload because of the upgrade to 18m x2m. i feel you because i have a friend that works there in the office for business accounts and that he say that thay are working on it to resolve the issue. it sucks because i have 18m x 2m and it sucks! i pay up the ass for this connection and it sucks! i get a load on it from people that buy from me and it crash i have my server cut down to 25 connections to my server. lots of people saying connection slowwwww.had to change how much bandwidth is to be used on my server for each connection. till this is resolved. love to have comcast. wow have you seen how much bandwidth shay offer for half of what i pay. 20mx20m dam.wow. were i live wave is all i can get or q west 1.5m x 768. run a small online business from home for extra money. so far its been not bad. use to host online websites no money in thay any more lol. shit its all "FREE" now! well hope this works if you can get a better service do later |

My speeds have dropped to a crawl, paying for the 10/1.5 pkg for over a year now..current speeds ar at 15-1800kb down/ and usual 1200 up..pathetic..sending serviceman out next week.Im sure I'll get the same song n dance as the rest of you gents...
Personally I think "wave" would prefer heavy users like me to go over to ATT's fiber,, but I guess thats just business, they probably would prefer customers that are buying the whole TV,internet,phone package deal versus someone who is only buying highspeed from em.
I would think in this very shakey economy,
Wave might want to think carefully about the chances of alienating loyal long time customers, nowadays people might move on to a competitor just to save a buck or 2 a month.... |
