I saw this on Digg a couple days ago and I have been playing around with it since.

After a while you're able to tweak your movements so the software responds more like you would expect, but it's still fairly unusable.

However, combined with proximity sensors in an LCD (rather than relying solely on video) would probably make it *much* better, as the biggest problem with the currently implementation is that it detects unwanted background movements and interprets it as deliberate interaction with the software.

Cool and fun concept. I wasn't able to use it like the demo though. I found it easier to scroll by moving my head from side to side. Still, it's too much work, and I won't be using it.

Edit: Bonus points for not making my MBP sound like a jet-engine. That really surprised me.

Its a fun application. They've developed some other cool ones. I don't know why anyone thinks this is anything more than a toy, because it really has absolutely no real-world function at the moment.

I had a chance to play around with it, and it was fun, but also quite difficult to get used to. The guy controlling it in the video obviously had some practice. It was very hard to "swipe" like in the video.

I've uploaded my own video of my experience of using it. It shows how much i suck compared to the other guy. lol

I have to say I agree.

It works so and was fun to play with but not optimal for regular use.

The problem I find is that having a macbook at least you are to close to the camera to make the movements in comfortable manner.

Might be best for those with iMacs and PowerMacs.
