What is Fontana doing?

This show a 10 degre temp drop...

Yesterday I said "Snow in Fontana Later Wed."

Someone from Fontana confirm this?

We've had a svr wx statement out for that for oever 24 hours. Svr chances...

I've issued the winter advisories all the way to the OC Coast due to my call of the NE Santa Ana Wind dynamics mixing in.

The winter window from the IE to OC Coastal will be 4pm-12am

If it happens, the press is going to contact me on how I did this back over 10 days ago so fingers are crossed something "rare" happens.

What's the forecast for tomorrow for the Grapevine? My mother is wanting to drive to Fresno tomorrow.
They're worried about black ice forming on the Grape Vine overnight into tomorrow morning. Forecasters are looking for the main part of this storm to be heading east after midnight. Have her call the number I posted earlier tomorrow for the latest. She can also call the CHP office in Castiac or the number on the link.

If it's snowing and sticking at Devore, which is around 2000 ft., I wonder if it will get down to my work here in San Bernardino at 1000 ft? When I got into work around 10AM, the outside temp reading on my car was at 41F, I imagine we have to see that drop to around 35-36F to start to see the wet flakes fly?

Just got a call from the station In Devore and it was snowing heavy and sticking....NE winds are picking up and snow level dropping.

Also picking up reports from the 138 closed from the 15 to Palmdale, 14 closed in Axton. In fact all roads in the MT's are now closed unless you have 4 wheel drive and chains.

I would remiss if I failed to add in the possiblity of heavy thunderstorm possibles in all areas this afternoon, hail and snow possible in those storms. Also, Tornadoes are now possible along the coastal areas especially in the OC county area, and the area from Corona south into Lake Elsinore. West winds coming off of the coast will meet with the NE winds creating severe conditions.

Luckily. But I am really worried about after dark. I have chains. I enjoy the adversity, but, I can't afford for the pass to close while I am at home. I need the money, and I can not work from home.
Use this site to find out road conditions....just add the road number...

as of now the 15 is closed from US 395 to Devore. Heavy snow, blowing snow and lowering snow levels.
That was the site I was watching it with.
The 15 is closed. Another night in a hotel. Well, what can I say, I pushed Ghostpainter into this storm, and I got it. I can only blame myself.

Latest Radar...Hold On to your snow shovels

Snow level is some areas are at 900 feet....This is now a cut off low moisture is coming in from the SW, but winds are coming from the NE driving the cold air back over the mountains with very low snow levels and heavy rain. It will be clearing late tonight but very cold in all areas, down into the upper 20's and low 30's in many upper valleys and down to zero in the MT's.

Hitting the slopes at Summit right now, report back later...
Freshie freshie pow pow. Snowboarding was excellent at Summit, going back Thursday hopefully...

I went up Monday and never made it the lifts, as I didn't arrive at Summit until 4pm to pick up my pass. 330 closed becasue of an accident, so went up 18 and had to sit behind a bunch of slow drivers and stuck vehicles. Ruined my whole day.

Went back yesterday and had to drive around the lake because a truck was stuck just passed the bridge, but got my riding in nonetheless. On the way home a tour bus got stuck in the same spot and we had to wait an hour while they tried to get it loose, even though there was room to let all the backed up cars by...

What about here? I could give a rat's ass about the LA Basin and OC.
Along the slopes of the mountains we are supposed to get another 2 to 4 inches of rain. In the Inland Empire Valleys, you can expect another 1 1/2 inches to 2 inches. Snow level for tomorrow is still very low averaging 2,000 to 1100 feet in all upper valley areas, the northern deserts and the Yucca, and Morongo Valley along highway 62.

TONIGHTS STORM:

Tonights storm is building as I type and should be into the LA basin a little after sunset. rainfall amounts will be 1/4 to 3/4 in the LA basin, 1/2 to 1 1/2 in OC, 2 inches along the west facing slopes and snow level will down to 1,000 feet all MT areas. So expect the passes to be closed tomorrow morning again, just in time for drive time.

More updates as the storm develops.

In 1985 i got stuck in Evanstan WY, during a blizzard that hit the area. We were all in heavy trucks as we were moving my aunt and uncle to Custer SD.

Anyway, we waited for 3 days as about 4 feet of powder built up on the 80 eating at some real good restaurants, one of which had a really french toast and sausage breakfast and the rooms were good too.

In side they had a list that you could sign up to that the WHP would advise when the temps rose to 34 degrees. That white powder could be driven in once the temp went back above freezing.

sure enough, as we watched the bottom of the TV screen for the outside temperature, it went up to 34 and the WHP called and said we could roll. We were doing 40 east bound through 10 inches of white fluffy powder.

Then we ran into another storm in Casper way up highway 25 and had to sit this time. 6 inches of ice is for get it, you aint moving.
