[ Cable] Moving from AOL to Cable

I have a person who used to be on AOL dial up and has moved on to cable. They still want to use AOL for e-mail. Can they cancel their AOL and keep the e-mail account or is there a different "package" they can get into that is cheaper than $30 a month?

When will the people realize that with DRM they aren't purchasing anything?

AOL is free. Has been for a while. The consumer can use AOL through whatever access they desire, DSL, cable or slow dial-up modem.

With the "new" cable access your person has, they can get their mail via:

1) Their original AOL software can be used. Change the sign-on process to reflect their new status by clicking the CONNECTION OPTIONS at the start-up window.

2) They can eschew the headache of using the AOL software and access their email via the internet at "aol.com". Can bypass the homepage and go directly to email sign-on window via: mail.aol.com

The Free AOL® plan
If you are not using AOL® dial-up, but have an alternate method to connect to the internet, you can access AOL® software, e-mail, content and services absolutely free. There is no catch or commitment - it’s our way of letting you enjoy AOL’s many services for as long as you’d like; even if you no longer need AOL to connect to the Internet.
