[Services] Order completion date "xx/xx/xxxx and after 6pm" No

Ordered 12/30. Specified I'd be using my own equipment and did not want or need their modem.

Received email that service would be completed on 1/6.

1/5 received self install kit (brown box via UPS) with new modem in it. (Didn't order it). Packing slip states service will be completed on 1/6 and available by 6pm.

1/6 No sync on modem as of 8:11pm. Tried the one in the box and no sync on it either.

Is the 6pm timeframe legit or is it typically something that happens in the middle of the night as with all other things phone related that seem to process at midnight, etc.

Although your chances of talking to someone within the continental US are slim in the evenings, you may want to make a call. It's highly possible that there is a wiring problem at the DSLAM or another outside problem preventing the sync. I know that here, because of the rain and numerous troubles, orders and troubles due today were missed. You folks probably had the same stuff we did.

Guess I'll make a freakin call. I swear everytime I order or make a change with AT&T (or even the old BellSouth), I had to call 2-3 times because it was never right.

It's the 7th; 5am. Still no sync.

Called them at 9am and they said the due date was the 7th, not the 6th as my packing slips states along with three emails from them. Whatever. She then states that the tech was working the ticket as of 8:08 am. Fine.

11:00 am, get email saying service is complete. Still no sync so I call again. Get escalated to manager. Test is ran and tech needs to be dispatched. BS.

I cancelled the order. I have cable and will stick with it if this is the kind of service I can expect with AT&T.

Here

Sometimes a tech can get overwhelmed and not get to all the orders scheduled for the day. In cases like that, they'll roll the sync order over to the next day. That's probably what happened to you.

As to why it didn't work after, anyone's guess.
