Guys,
I hope someone can help me as I've been at it for hours no with no success....I have a Netopia 3347-02 modem/router and can only get a type 3 nat...I;ve tried everything including forwarding all the correct ports and i still get a nat 3....please if someone managed to crack this mystery on a 3347-02 modem please give me detailed info.

Thanks,

you can try enabling UPnP or just set the NAT default server to point to the PS3. delete all teh existing pinholes, save and restart before you do anything as sometimes teh router will get confused after you make many changes. deleting all pinholes, or better yet reset to defaults, tends to clear this issue.

I had the same problem. I have the Motorola (Netopia) 3347.

I put the PS# in 'DMZ Mode' and got Nat 1, no problem

But how did you accomplish this? My router has no option to assign an IP to DMZ. Matter of fact, there is no mention of DMZ in any part of the setup! My PS3 is wirelessly connected, if that makes a difference, but nothing I have done can get it off NAT3
