The same thing happened to me. If you restart your pc right away and select your F8 key after the bios screen, a menu will appear. Select Last Known Good Configuration. Restart the laptop or pc and you should be all set. Go back into updates on MS website, deselect the same update that caused the issue and select to not show the update again. I hope this helps.
Tried the "Last Good..." but no luck. Still reinstalls software. I just did a search of all files. Can you believe it, there is nothing with Ideacom on the hard drive.
I am hoping someone will come up with something.
Does MS have an email or phone Windows Update support that I can call?(free)
