12. My speeds used to average over 600k but a recent outage and subsequent repair at the RT (The tech told my wife a board was bad in the DSLAM) brought my speeds down. Tech said line was capped, called supervisor to have cap removed, they said to deal with ISP, ISP says line isnt capped, call ASI.
So any help anyone can give me would be apprecaited. -- The difference between foresight and hindsight is only a matter of when you bother to think things through. |

ISP is Cal.net. Seems to be basically a reseller for PacBell. My review of them says it all. Currently the DSL manager is dealing with me trying to appease me but its not going great. -- The difference between foresight and hindsight is only a matter of when you bother to think things through. |

| Well there are about 2 things that I see wrong right there first it seems as you are capped well beyond 1500/128 I think even 768/128 but you are well bellow that too. I don't know why the capped you from an RT unless there are line issues like internal wiring or such.
Since Cal.net is your ISP its their responsibility to call ASI and get the cap raised. ASI will not talk to you since you are not their customer. I would either call and demand the service you deserve or cancel and go strait to PacBell or one of its re-sellers.
This is what I can tell you right now:
•You are tweaked. •Your line is clean. -- McLarenF1 -- Live fast, die without regrets. |

That shows what the last set of exchanges was over. Thanks for the help guys, but in the end I was getting no service for a horrific price. I guess I will go with pac bell next. -- The difference between foresight and hindsight is only a matter of when you bother to think things through. |

| I wish I had a modem that could do that. . .
Any ways, I am guessing 768/160 Project Pronto and I don't think distance could be a factor because Lanik gets 1229/137 out of 1500/160 via P-P. Unless you have line noise or instability. [text was edited by author 2002-01-19 01:39:50] |

| Definately pronto here. I am 23,000+ feet from the CO. The RT is only a few blocks from me. My modem didnt do that till tonight, it was a Speedstream 5260.... Now I have a 5660 The stats out of the router show 1 crc error and only a few non deliverable packets.
My speeds have been all over the map. But since there was a board replaced in the DSLAM at the RT my speed has stuck around 500k-600k. Used to at least get 768...
Oh well in a few months I will have a new provider and my problems will either be solved or worse. -- The difference between foresight and hindsight is only a matter of when you bother to think things through. |
