XM Radio Lifespan

My two XM radio subcriptions are coming up in April and June.

With all the problems they have been having and never having gotten in the black I wonder if they are going to survive?

Seeing they outsource all over the world with their billing and tech support I hate to tie up another years worth of my money then have them go belly up.

When you get down to it I probably don't listen to more than a half a dozen stations with any consistency.

With about 150 plus cds on my Samsung P2 I have over 1900 songs available.

Just wondering if anybody else is ready to abandon the sinking ship.

It's funny that you mention this, since I was just thinking about buying an XM-compatible headunit and tuner for my car. We'll see.

Same here, I have it online SIRIUS 128bit, had it for a yr and a half now, and want to purchase the XM MP3go for home, Car, and on the go, anybody have this? if so, how well is the reception in the home, and on the go, I know it's sounds great in a car, I've heard it before, but how well dose it work anywhere else? from what I gather, it all depends where you live (part of the USA)............any one know? is this really true? sounds a little to-good-to-be-true to me, to have something like the XM Mp3go to work in the Home, Car, and, on the go............

Another thing I forgot to mention is they are raising the price of my second subscription by $2 a month and also I will have to start paying for the use of XM on my pc which until now was free. Looks like they are going down the path AT&T has taken and nickle-diming you to death with every little thing on their land lines.

I don't know if you checked or asked but the »Satellite Radio forum would be a good place to ask. I do understand your worry though it would suck to pay for a year and have them go off the air. Can you pay for 3 months at a time?

Re: XM Radio Lifespan

Thanks Flippant

To tell you the truth I have had my link to this site set so long I haven't even checked out what is new and didn't even know about the Satellite Radio forum.

Will have one of the mods move this.

Thanks again.

Another senior moment, I didn't see you were a mod.

Well with the recent infusion of cash from Liberty, I think they're ok for at least a year. I'm on the month to month, though, and part of that decision was the long term stability of this company.

I've been month-to-month with XM since I started a few years ago. I'm not dropping it until it goes belly-up or unless they dump all the channels I listen to.

Changed my one subscription to the "Mostly Music", which offers about 60 stations for $9.99, and went to a quarterly term so if they go under I will not be out much.

Cancelled the one on my wife's car as we are selling it because we have reached the age were we are always together and it just set in the garage and drew dust.(08 Loaded Altima V6(270HP).

I have to admin the phone help was easy and very efficent. They are now outsourced in Panama.
