Do take heart though, my father amongst a number of other ills, had part of one lung removed from lung cancer, and that was 6 - 7 years ago now...and he is doing alright, not great, but not so bad either!
ptrowski, I know what you mean: I began folding somewhat as a tribute to my wife's late aunt, who passed away from cancer...5 years later, who knew? Now my wife is battling cancer (and doing just fine!)
Sometimes folding just seems like "something decent to do", but then sometimes it is so much more.

My dad passed away from small cell lung cancer, an aggressive form of lung cancer, on Oct. 15, 2008. My mom has non small cell lung cancer. As you can see, I am all too familiar with lung cancer.
