How do I allow D/L from HomePage? NotWorking

these files are zipped then put in a exe file that is 20K larger than a zip file.... one file is 1.4megs in size and the other 1.6megs

I get "this page cannot be displayed" when I try your links.

This is from a website and works:

This is yours and does not work:
Download WinStabs2002 for Access 2000

Remove the "." after the " and before the / and see if that's the problem. (I'm not a HTML expert.)

Are the EXE files in the right folder? By contrast, your graphics files load just fine when typed-in as a URL (example: I can display the file "./BuiltByNOF.gif" from the HTML source for your page by typing-in the URL "http: //home.swbell.net/sanoyes/BuiltByNOF.gif". (without the space after "http:")

Also, does the case and spelling of the filenames for the physical EXE files match the case and spelling in the HREF link?

But I can understand also Posting PWP questions here if it might be related to differences between home.swbell.net, pages.prodigy.net, pages.sbcglobal.net, and the other incarnations. If sanoyes files are in place, it might be the folder structure requirements of home.swbell.net. And in a search of Web Monks, I found only two references to swbell.

For additional coverage specific to swbell PWP (PHP), sanoyes could also post to the swbell.homepages newsgroup.

Can you do us a favor? Can you create a sub-dir and move the exe files in there with no other files? I want to take a look the directory listing.

Is the "Winstabs2002-A97.exe" EXE file that I saw in the HTML Source for your page spelled and capitalized the same way as the file you uploaded (including the "exe" portion)? And did you upload that EXE to the same root folder in which the file for the link is placed (index.html, I believe)?

If your host runs *nix then your files need to be all in lower case, and the links also.

It really is confusing. Using the browser, I can type-in the URL and reach all of the other files mentioned in your source: style.css, site.css, clearpixel.gif, and BuiltByNOF.gif. All without a Browser error. But I can't reach winstabs2002-a97.exe or winstabs2002-a2000.exe.

Are you using NetObjects Fusion to upload your files? When you upload to the website, have you confirmed that NetObjects Fusion is placing your exe files in the same directory as the other files, including index.html?

When I type the links in DAP, it finds the files ok (or so it says), but comes back with an internal server error when trying to download them.
