Looks like lots of new Comcast HD channels very soon.

Well looks like a boat load of new HD channels is headed this way. Saw this in a Tivo Community Forum thread (way too long to read).
said by tcf :

Comcast will be adding a slew of new HD channels to its Houston market area on April 27, bringing the total number of high-definition choices in the area to 59. Recently launched baseball network MLB HD started of this month’s additions when it was added to the lineup yesterday. Comcast also added a bunch of HD channels yesterday to its New Jersey market areas.

Stations being added this month in Houston:

283 National Geographic HD
601 Speed Channel HD
607 KPXB-ION HD
622 Cartoon HD
629 Discovery HD
631 FX HD
632 ABC Family HD
638 Fox News Channel HD
640 Lifetime HD
641 Disney Channel HD
642 Animal Planet HD
643 Nickelodeon HD
644 E! HD
648 Spike HD
657 AMC HD
660 Sci Fi HD
662 Travel Channel HD
663 TLC HD
671 Lifetime Movies HD
672 Biography HD
677 Fox Business News HD
678 Discovery Science Channel HD
679 Planet Green HD
680 Hallmark Movie Channel HD
681 NHL HD
682 MLB HD (added April 1)
683 Style HD
684 TV ONE HD
696 Encore HD
These are all in addition to what we already have. I saw the MLB HD get added a week or so ago so maybe this is more than rumor. Time will tell.

That is good news! I had heard that we were getting more HD channels "after the first of the year." Can't wait!

I look forward to about a half dozen of those channels, especially Encore and Bravo in HD, very nice. It will be interesting to see how much HD content those other channels might have.

The Chronicle had an article on the new channels coming. »www.chron.com/disp/story.mpl/ent···114.html

They state we are getting 27 new HD channels and 10 additional digital channels. The new channels are to be added starting 27 April 2009.

I do not know where I saw Bravo HD, well there are some other good channels. The new channel range/line up will take a while getting used to. But I am up for it!

Glad to see they're mapping existing HD channels to the 600 range too.

I don't know whether to laugh or cry. Tivo has updated my channel listings today. It is great to see where all the new channels will be, only problem is that the content has not moved yet. Old channels are no longer listed. Yes I can still tune the channels but all recordings and guides are moved. So a week of bad recordings and difficult navigation. Well at least there is a positive pay off at the end.

I was hoping for RFD-TV also. I've been requesting it for years

I switched to DirecTV a year ago for those channels. Glad I didn't wait. The HD channels quality on DirecTV are way better than when I had Comcast HD.

Well I did a quick check last5 night and it appeared most of the changes have taken place. Did not see Enc HD, but was surprised to see MLB and NHL HD were not on the sports extra tier, the NG HD was also in the 600 range. The listing above is not totally correct but gives a good idea. It closely matches the channels on the 2-99 range except for a few notable exceptions.

I have had this update since Monday. I am getting all channels except Speed HD which may be on the Sports Tier. Try channel 608 (PBS). Did you try to power cycle your box to force an update, although that does not seems to work well anymore. Otherwise I would call them on Monday.
