Using the browser, I can type-in the URL and reach all of the other files mentioned in your source: style.css, site.css, clearpixel.gif, and BuiltByNOF.gif. All without a Browser error. But I can't reach winstabs2002-a97.exe or winstabs2002-a2000.exe.
Are you using NetObjects Fusion to upload your files? When you upload to the website, have you confirmed that NetObjects Fusion is placing your exe files in the same directory as the other files, including index.html? -- SWBell DSL and Prodigy - Router, HPNA, Phone Wiring: »pages.sbcglobal.net/dffisher/DSL/ |

Can he do that if he's using NetObjects Fusion for uploads, or would he be better off just using an FTP client to simply delete the current index.html file so we can see what's in there? -- SWBell DSL and Prodigy - Router, HPNA, Phone Wiring: »pages.sbcglobal.net/dffisher/DSL/ |

sanoyes join:2000-10-31 Lees Summit, MO | reply to dffisher Yes I am using NetObjects to upload it...
I'm doing exactly the same as when I uploaded to my earthlink web site.. and it worked flawlessly..
I'm wondering if there's something about the homepages for swbell that won't let me send out exe files? |

 | Try zipping the files and linking to the zip files. That will test if you're not allowed .exe files and that downloads in general are ok. -- Co-Captain of Team Discovery. Join us and find the cure for cancer. |

Actually, I think it's a swbell thing in the way in which it accepts uploads, as opposed to pages.prodigy.net and pages.sbcglobal.net. But to help in determining that, have you been able to delete the index.html file so we all can examine the files on your site? -- SWBell DSL and Prodigy - Router, HPNA, Phone Wiring: »pages.sbcglobal.net/dffisher/DSL/ |

I think you've hit on it. The files probably didn't make it to the website in the upload. In fact, from the Help FAQ at home.swbell.net, it appears that there are many ways that third-party Publishers can fail:
"please note that we do not support the server extensions feature of Microsoft's FrontPage editor. Also, the "publish" feature in third party HTML editors may not work properly. To upload pages created with a third party editor, you may need to save the document to your hard disk and then use the Upload tool in Page Manager or a third party FTP client. We currently do not support the http upload feature in Netscape Navigator Gold."
If proper folder settings cannot be made using NetObjects Fusion, I'd take swbell at their word instead and use an FTP client for the uploads. -- SWBell DSL and Prodigy - Router, HPNA, Phone Wiring: »pages.sbcglobal.net/dffisher/DSL/ |
