 Which DSL modem to buy for DSL service with AT&T in Boca FL?

I have a client that needs DSL service in Boca Raton, Florida, with AT&T. For some reasons she does not want to use the AT&T modem they will give her for free. Which are modem alternatives? Preferably a small box.
