Netgear rates the product for an ambient temperature range of 0 - 95 degrees F, so it should be able to handle 80 degrees, if everything is working OK.
The temp rating probably applies to the device and not the drives which are essentially the issue (drives overheating not the nas). Short of swapping the drives (some run cooler than others) all that can be done is alter the environment.

Poway, CA		 Yes, the temp range applies to the NAS itself, but, if the unit is rated for 95 degrees F, it should have been able to handle 80 degrees just fine if the cooling fan is working OK and ventilation hasn't been restricted.
