 CenturyTel/Embarq INFO

I just wanted to drop in and post some informative links. You can read about everything CenturyTel at a variety of locations.

Here at DSLReports: »Company entry - CenturyLink

CenturyTel/EMBARQ Merger site: »www.centurytelembarqmerger.com/index.cfm

CenturyTel's home page: »www.centurytel.com/

CenturyTel's Investor Relations site: »ir.centurytel.com/phoenix.zhtml?···l-irhome

CenturyTel's Pure Broadband Site: »givemepure.com/

We are excited about the CenturyTel/Embarq deal and can't wait to hit the ground running once it is complete. In the weeks and months ahead you will see and hear plenty. "NEWCO" is coming! I personally can't wait for the NEW COmpany name. Stay Tuned!

Hahaha.. you should hear some of the names that the COO said she "Liked". But there's a 3rd party firm working on a new name for the company.

Well she didn't release any names from the 3rd party company making the name, this was just a discussion between her and employees, and she asked some employees to throw out some names that they had thought of. The meeting was a bit over a month ago so the names have escaped me but I didn't like them at all but she said they were great suggestions lol. If I can remember one of them.. it was CendaQ ... Cen for CenturyTel, Da for Data, and Q for EmbarQ.

Well, I was gonna suggest "Bloody Big Telco That is Gonna Crush Things" but then I tried it a few times and decided that as I am getting older, I couldn't get it out during my phone greeting in one breath.

It's hell getting old.

So think of us poor phone people when you come up with the name, wouldja?

How about just "BBT" for short. I am getting old too, so I understand.

Where can I find the end user agreements for this company? I would like to know if they have a cap on transfer per month. Do they allow servers? General rules.

what the hel

@embarqhsd.net

Considering you're with Embarq, their TOS would apply to you. When CenturyTel and Embarq do come together and start operating as a single company under the CenturyLink name we'll have to see what changes occur to the TOS at that time.

You'll have to wait until then 'lil rabbit.

ctel guy,

I too appreciate the links. I just checked out the merger site above, but saw nothing about a timeline for my state (nj). I assume that once a timeline is known that the merger site will have information on this and other details (TOS, possible e-mail domain changes, etc.)

whatthehell

@embarqhsd.net

The merger was done on, I believe, June 2nd with CenturyLink as the parent company and CenturyTel and Embarq as 2 different companies. During this period they have been working to get "backroom" systems in place for both sides to use, ie, payroll, dispatch, purchasing and others that the general public will never see.

On August 31st they started advertising that these companies will be becoming CenturyLink.

In latter October the brand CenturyLink will be rolled out in both companies, so the phones will be answered CenturyLink then, advertising will be CenturyLink, building signs will be changed and trucks re-branded.

At that point you'll see the common TOS for service and other changes. I personally believe all the changes will take about a year to 100% complete.

Everything I've heard from corporate people, such as Glen Post, CEO and Karen Puckett, CFO, at CenturyLink sounds good.
