tomtom's can avoid specific parts of routes
and tomtom's can use mapshare to block off specific roads for yourself, but that would be time consuming  |

It would be sweet if there was such a thing! I have telenav on my t-mobile g1 (and sony ericsson phone, trying it out to see which phone works best) and it has the option to avoid traffic but if i can avoid a train, even better! If i can take a different road to avoid a 10 minute train, that would be worth it.

I'd imagine in a lot of cases you'd have to drive pretty far to find a bridge in order to avoid one. In almost 30 years of driving I think I've only been held up by a train... like 5 times. |

That's what i get for living near the burlington northern and union pacific lines. Suburban chicago is just like that.
