No I haven't spent a dime yet I was just looking at what I was going to get. I will probably wait until I am about 3 weeks out and start ordering so that way it will be sitting there waiting on me when I get home....as if I am not going to have enough to do! |

If it's going to be 3 months before you can build and use the setup I wouldn't buy anything until you get home. You will only spend more money for less product if you buy before you are ready to use it. x2. | reply to Krisnatharok Im putting together a new rig myself and I am going with dual 4890's with an AMD Phenom II x4 955 CPU. I may just hold off on the vid cards though since I am in Iraq and getting the stuff shipped home. Maybe by the time I am out of here (3 months) the 5000 series will be out. I guess it would be worth the wait. |

| reply to Krisnatharok thats a strange resolution...i assume its 16:9 and a step above 1920x1080. 4870 will be fine for all those games, at least for now. im not one to always tell ppl to wait for the next round of updates, but IMO ur systems is up to snuff if you wanted to hold out for the 5000 series or maybe GT300.
otherwise its a tough call. 4870 XF will certainly be better than upgrading to 4890 and with the cheapness of 4870s it's probably the better choice even if you were to sell the 4870 after buying 4890. -- Somnambulator - t3h 5133pw41k3r

| reply to Krisnatharok It probably would be overkill for me...
I play Crysis (one step below max), WoW (ultra, 30-40fps), Quake Territory Wars.... plan on picking up L4D and possibly Demigod this summer, and SCII in November when it comes out.

| reply to Somnambul33t I run SLI GTX260's, and I agree - It's overkill for the majority of the games out there. There are a few games where i'm glad i've had such power, however. A single GTX260 or 4870 1GB will be just fine for a while still. -- THIS IS SPENCER. MISSION ACCOMPLISHED - I HAVE JOE. RETURNING TO BASE. |

| reply to Krisnatharok what games do u play? 4890 is an awesome card and has some real gameplay improvements over 4870 in certain games. if youre satisfied with your FPS/quality settings in current games just wait for the HD5000 series. crossfire is OK. i run HD4870x2 and it's overkill for the majority of games i play (1920x1080). |

| I recently bought in back in March for $199 for my i7 build, and I was wondering if anyone knew about their price going down anytime soon?
Should I wait to buy a second one for Crossfire or should I buy a 4890.
