[AB] Switching from basic cable to classic cable

Right now, my family is using the basic cable ($33.95/month). If I want to switch to the classic cable ($58.95/month), do I have to change my cable box thing? Do I just activate it online or something?

Also, when I check the "channels in my area" page on shaw, and go to classic cable, it has tier 1, 2 and 3. What do they mean? Do I get them if I order classic cable?

Sorry for having too many questions.

Thanks!

Ben.

If you want them, they have to come out to hook it

Tier 1, 2 and 3, along with the Basic you already have, comprise Classic cable. If you already have a digital box, they can do up a work order for the upgrade, then send someone out to take off the filters so any TVs without a box can get the channels as well. By doing that, you'd get the new channels right away. However, only the TVs with a box would get the upgrade until the tech was out there to do the work.

Really, you'd get a faster, more precise answer if you just called up and asked the sales department. They'd be quite happy to help out.
