GFI Backup Home Edition

This was mentioned in GFI's newsletter but I don't use Windows so I can't say how good it actually is but I thought someone may be interested.

From the manual:
With a very easy to use wizard-driven interface GFI Backup 2009 can help you:

create backup of your most important data: backup files, windows registry, mails and user settings
run synchronization operations to stay updated anytime with your files.
having many free plug-ins installed by default, GFI Backup 2009 allows you to easily backup emails and rules for Microsoft Outlook, Outlook Express, Firefox, Opera, Thunderbird, Eudora, Windows settings, system registry and more...
easily restore files from backups
use any kind of storage device: internal or external hard disks, LAN, CD/DVD, removable media devices (USB sticks, memory sticks, flash memory, floppy disks, ZIP disks, JAZ, etc.), remote locations using FTP
schedule your tasks
create task events
protect your backup privacy with 256-bit AES strong encryption
create self-extracting backups and standard Zip64 archives
filter the files you want to include in your backup
version control, incremental and differential backups
detailed logs of all backup operations
and more...

The link points to a page where there's A video showing how to use it.

There are many of these programs that are free, but all they do is something anyone should be able to do themselves.

It doesn't do images or drives!

I just tried it and my personal opinion i think it sucks, it got stuck at 98 percent and would not move so i stopped it un-installed it with revo uninstall had to reboot system got a BSOD did a hard boot, ran scans when system came back up and all seems ok. I'll stick with Acronis True Image 9 thank you very much.

Edit: and yes i knew it didn't do image backups.

Wow, is it really that bad?

Thanks for posting the warning. It doesn't sound like it's going to change the world!

(As I said in my first post I don't use Windows only Linux so I posted for others to test.)
