I just moved from Tempe where my service was perfectly stable into Scottsdale where my service has been a complete nightmare.

I work from home and I'm experiencing anywhere from 5-10 Disconnects per day at random times. Generally 2-3 during the day which effect work and then another 4-5 during the evening which effect everything else.

I have had multiple techs on site replace a number of cables including the drop from the back of the house into the garage. At this time I'm wondering if I should replace this SB5101 and try for a different modem. The inconsistent connection is starting to effect my work and my only other option is dropping Cox for Qwest in hopes the single DSL line has better stability.

Modem Information:
Software Version: SB5101-2.4.1.5-SCM01-NOSH
Hardware Version: 1
MIB Version: II
GUI Version: 1.0

Downstream Value
Frequency 573000000 Hz

Signal To Noise Ratio 37.1 dB

Power Level -3.9 dBmV

Upstream Value
Channel ID 1
Frequency 34500000 Hz
Power 46.0 dBmV

Any comments and or suggestions would be greatly appreciated I would rather not go to DSL but at this rate I need stability for my job.

Your firmware is a bit out of date. If you could PM me your MAC address I'll go ahead and update it for you.

I have moved around a lot in Phoenix and have always had Cox HSI, been in 85258, 85054, 85024 and 85022 in the last 3 years. I have noticed speeds definitely very from address to address but the only time I have experienced any instability similar to what you are describing was in Scottsdale and was corrected with an inline attenuator.

Well this has been an ongoing issue and I still deal with 4+ disconnects per day which is becoming highly frustrating. We wanted to see if the new service was any better.

Where it shows nice results it has been connected since 5pm and already reset 4-5 times. At this points since they finally submitted a ticket to hopefully have this issue resolved I'm giving them one last chance if they can't fix it this time I'll have to give DSL a try.
