Newshosting Raises Connections

Here is part of an email from Newshosting:

June 26, 2009 -- Newshosting, the world's premier provider of premium Usenet newsgroup access, today announced major service upgrades to its NHXL and NH Unlimited plans. These upgrades come at no added cost to Newshosting subscribers.

Newshosting's top-tier NHXL access plan will now support a full 30
connections-- up from 20 connections offered prior. NHXL will continue to include SSL encryption, Lightning Accelerator, and unlimited transfers. Current retention across binary newsgroups is 302 days and continues to spool to a full 400 days. Over 2 years of text retention is supported.

The number of connections available with the NH Unlimited plan has been upgraded from 12 to 20 connections. Furthermore, binary retention for all NH Unlimited subscribers has been expanded from 250 to 302 days. Binary retention will continue to spool to a full 400 days. Supported retention across text newsgroups is over 2 years.
Newshosting invites all new customers to test its enhanced NHXL or NH Unlimited plan with a free 14 day trial. Sign up now by visiting the Free Two Week Trial Page.

Cool, 12 to 20 connections. Hmmm, wonder why I haven't got this email yet.

I got one this morning even though I switched from Newshosting to Astraweb months ago. I guess they still have my email address.

I've switched from Newshosting several years ago and I still receive emails from them. But they send so few (2 a year or so) I don't bother trying to get off their mailing list.

There is a link on the bottom of their emails to "opt-out" for any future emails.

Kalone, I VERY HIGHLY recommend you dump Newshosting's RIP OFF prices and check this out: »Sign up at Astraweb now to pay $11/month for LIFE!

Why do you say it's a rip off. It's only $4 more a month for Newshosting. Not that the service is any better, or worse, but $4 a month. I'd hardly say it's a rip off.

Right on, I use news hosting never had any problems. I tried the astraweb deal for a month, I didn't like the 3rd party billing and encountered more incompletes than on newshosting.

Astraweb is great, but it's not for everyone. It's west coast, I'm east coast and the 3rd party billing makes it difficult to update credit cards etc. True you can do it but it faster on a service that has it's own credit billing.

And by the way, I never said I used Newshosting.
