 Sonic Opens in Hasbrouck Heights

Has anyone been to the new Sonic in Hasbrouck Heights, NJ? There are people driving 100+ miles and camping out at 2:30 AM to get a "slot" since the closest is in Pennsylvania/Delaware..

Sonic has actually hired local PD to stop people from lining up in the right lane of Route 17...

I'm just wondering what is so great about Sonic?

I've been to Sonics around the country. They're OK, but nothing to write home about. I think it's just the novelty of having something that the rest of the country has had for years.

I think I may stop in for a meal today or tomorrow... We'll see how great it is. That grilled chicken at KFC was my latest favorite thing in FF.. haha

If I was young and had an iron stomach I'd probably try them out.But "FAST FOOD" is named that because it goes fast threw your system and comes out on the other end much faster .

Except here. There are none in the Western New York area.

Lisa White Castles is probably the "FASTEST FOOD" there is!
There still is quiet a few White Castles here in New York.
So come on up and I'll take you out to dinner .(not sure if you can call it dinner. Its more like being prepped for a colonoscopy. ).

Well guys.... I spent over an hour waiting in line (there had to be at least 20 - 30 cars lined up on the three lane highway waiting to get in to the place)...

I'm now paying for my mistake of overeating... It's 3:55 AM and instead of sleeping, my stomach feels like a nuke went off, and I just might puke any minute now... No, I wasn't drinking....

Ugh... Where's the pepto when I need it?

Yes, I'm having a wonderful day today... I think it was well worth the "discomfort" I felt last evening.... Who wants to go to Sonic with me tonight? And if that is too busy, there is a White Castle and KFC right down the street... lol

Before I tried Taco Bell for the first time in the late 70's or early 80's, I was already hooked on TacoTime. They started out west and have over 350 franchises, none closer to us than Oshawa Ontario (about 350 miles).

I could also go for a Jack-In-The-Box super taco - is there still one not far from Roosevelt Field on Old Country Rd?

Haha, it's because people are coming from all over.... When I went there around 10PM the other night, there was about 30 cars ON THE HIGHWAY waiting to get in... There is about 20-30 spots available at a time WITHIN the sonic parking lot, so that is a lot of people... Crazy!

Really? I wasn't aware of that? When did it open? This week?
Hopefully it'll take a little strain off the one in HH.....

I heard that the owners of the Hasbrouck Heights Sonic were planning on opening about a dozen more in Bergen County / the NY Metro area... The owners are actually from South Jersey...

Yeah, I drove past Sonic today at around 3 PM and for the first time ever, I did not see a line of cars waiting to get in... Then again, it was pouring raining and in the middle of the afternoon... It's probably packed right now.

What I've seen now to alleviate traffic on 46 is that Sonic employees have the cars go around the building next door (a night club) so the cars come through either the car park or the drive thru from behind the place.

Personally, I went to the Sonic in Easton, PA when I worked out there last year and really found nothing to write home about. And I consider myself a hamburger afficianato. I more frequent the newly opened 5 Brothers joint up on 23.

They also opened a new sonic in howell, nj.....

Pretty large line wrapped around a separate building.

They have employees in the parking lot directing traffic.

Its kinda bad for a rainy wednesday night.... Its probably gonna be alot worse over the weekend.

Although..... If you think this is bad..... Think of this.....

If in and out burger ever opened a franchise in nj they'd need to call the national guard to maintain order.

At first I thought everyone on the highway was drunk but then I realized I was driving in Florida

I have no desire to ever go to another Sonics as long as I live.

When I lived in Louisiana (for about 2 1/2 yrs) , the town's "fine" dining consisted of a Sonics...ughhhh.

Screw Sonics...I'm going to Chipotle !
