the ad claims are more than likely 99.999999% false, but you were one of a few hundred that decided to inquire about it. the others just went with it, gave their info for the 2.95, and will be inquiring later about their $2500.

They are one and the same company who do not tell you that they are taking 38.21 out along with the 1.95 the site answered none of my questions anyway and was not helpful to my situation. When I received my bank statment on Friday, May 15th, I noticed there were a couple of charges that were not approved charges by me or my husband. There was a number to call, so I called the number, I was told to go to refunds@grants 360 to get a refund. When I got to work this morning, I tried to get on-line, but received an error message. There were 2 charges to my account, 1 from grants360.com for 58.07 and another one from turbo-irs-ta.com for 38.52. The phone numbers on my statement for these 2 charges are: turbo-irs-ta-1-866-978-1126 and grants360.com-1-866-955-1669. When I called both numbers, the same girls answered for both companies! I did not order anything and defineatey did not give them permission to debit my checking account.

I bet you end up at a site similar to vemmabuilder.com which asks for CC info so they can sell/send you a CD with the grant information.

I wonder why they have S&H charges less than $3.00?
If I had a site like that I would at least charge $19.95

HA! sorry, but people that don't research before submitting information where they get something for free that's advertised on the radio should know better. Especially when they are asked for financial information to where they will be charged a small fee for information! I've heard the commercial plenty of times and of course decided to read all of the disclaimers, privacy and other notices on the website to see what it's all about. After reading them, it still didn't really make sense to me so I searched for reviews and found several.

My high school government teacher would say "There is no such thing as a free lunch!" and I have always remembered this phrase and followed it when things like this have come up.

My only hope are forums such as these.

Web site publishers and ad networks are on the Federal Trade Commission's radar, but this time it's not for behavioral targeting or data privacy related concerns. The FTC warned it is cracking down on misleading ads and e-mails promoting access to economic stimulus related grants, and the media firms enabling those ads. Some of the scams are promoted through display ads featuring photos of President Obama, Google sponsored listings featuring the president's name, or sites displaying his 2008 campaign logo or logos of popular news outlets.

Facebook has already agreed to ban such ads, and Google is working with the FTC to investigate ads that violate its advertiser policies, according to the commission.

The FTC is asking "online media companies to monitor their sites for scam ads and get rid of them," said Eileen Harrington, acting director of the FTC's Bureau of Consumer Protection, this morning during a press conference.

"Our AdWords Content Policy does not permit ads for sites that make false claims, and we investigate and remove any ads that violate our policies," said Google in a statement e-mailed to ClickZ News. "We have discussed these issues with the Federal Trade Commission and reaffirmed our commitment to protecting users from scam ads."

Facebook has agreed to ban stimulus-related scam ads from its site. "Ads touting free stimulus money were on Facebook," said Harrington, who said the company pulled the ads on its own volition, and following conversations with the FTC. "We absolutely salute Facebook for being so proactive in this regard," she added.

But it may not be easy for publishers and ad sellers to rid the Web of such nefarious advertising. Exactly who's behind such ads is difficult to determine. Many lead to domains that differ from the ones featured in the ad copy, and transfer from one domain to another. For instance, ObamaStimulusPlan.info features news headlines and links to economic stimulus information, and an ad promoting "free money in government grants," which leads the user to a site associated with Grant Stimulus Source; the site also features CNN and CNBC logos.

I heard the 'Never Pay it Back' ad on a radio station in NC. You would think that radio stations would be more selective about the information that is being broadcasted. The same goes for TV stations. This is an indication of how far people will go to get money.

Bravo 2 all that caught the scam presented on radios through out the country. if this was a true ad they would not ask for financial info,rather send you a true form 2 fill out and send 2 a legitimate office. so i whole heartedly agree this is a 100% scam these people that prey on people in todays time and economy need 2 b punished

If it's too good to be true then it usually is. It's understandable given the economic times that we live in but organizations that give money away for nothing do so without having to advertise on the radio. Any time that someone asks for any kind of financial / personal information turn around and run...Live in Northern California and just did hear the commercial this a.m. Thought I'd check it out like I always do when something like this (radio / phone / newspaper) runs a blurb and this is usually the way that it ends up, a scam. I'm sorry for the people that have had troubles with this. If I could help I would but I've been unemployed for almost two years now and yes it sucks!!

I did give a couple of guys and their dog who were sitting at the exit of an in-n-out burger $20 last week for food for themselves and their dog (they did tell me that their pet comes first) and I wished I could have done more (thankfully my wife has a decent job but we're still feeling the effects of me not working) for them.

I guess what I'm trying to say is that we all have to be careful in this day and age. It just takes a tragedy / personal grieve for the criminals to come out of the woodwork. It's scum like this that makes it hard for good people to trust each other.

I've wondered the same thing. I don't expect radio stations to be cops or Private Investigators, but for crying out loud, some of the commercials I hear could only be considered legitimate by a moron. Looks to me like the radio stations don't care if it is a scam as long as they're getting the ad revenue.
