| reply to dibbb Re: LCD hit by lightning
Since the monitor was fried, it either was unprotected or had a really low-quality one. Most of the good ones have guarantees that will replace equipment if the protection fails. They're available at places like Dell, Staples, Office Depot, Best Buy, and better local home electronics stores. -- There is no giant fur-bearing trout. |

| reply to dibbb said by dibbb :A friend has a 21" LCD that died recently after an electrical storm. It didn't take a "direct" hit, but died after a close lightning strike. It cost her $300 to buy. Do you think it's worth trying to get fixed, or just buy a new one? Shop around, one should be able to pick up a new, bigger, better for around US$ 150. |
