| Really need help
I might me posting in the wrong area but i will still give it a crack.Ok so now I have att air card,good speed for xbox live but a little pricy and the 5G usage sucks.Could someone please tell me why att can't get dsl out here.We have at least 1000 people here and more then half would get it.We have a town near here called Aquilla that has maybe 100 people and they have aircanopy.Can someone help me find an internet company that offers offordable broadband in Gholson,TX.Thank you for all answers. |

| AT&T doesn't have DSL in almost any real small towns. A population of 1000 ain't really enough to make it economically feasible to bring DSL there. Sure, if all 1000 connected to it, yeah it'd be worth it but that doesn't happen. Multiple DSLAMs would have to be installed to service everyone and most likely new fiber to those DSLAMs.
Put simply, by the time it would take AT&T to make a profit from bringing DSL there, they will have replaced it with a newer technology, probably twice over. It'd be nice to have DSL everywhere, but AT&T ain't gonna lose money to do that. |

Ok maybe they won't but instead of them getting our hopes up by telling us it will be out there next year,then two years later they say the same thing,why not tell us never? |

Governments are increasingly using eminent domain on pee ons to take their property away. Heck the excuse sometimes now used is simply they can generate better taxes by giving it to some one else. Too bad it wouldn't be financial viable for your town to seize all the the telecommunication lines equipment from AT&T under the same reason they could provide with the profits gained from it better phone and dsl services. Maybe even offer it to a competitor that would promise these services. I'd sooner sitting on jury would vote for that then using it for a new hardware store or to just generate more taxes. |
