| They can't, its usually in the range of 30-38mpbs the current modems being handed out (doscis 2.0).
I know they've been doing docsis 3.0 testing in employees homes for a while. Probably just putting it up there, for business/future. -- The more you talk, the less you listen. |

Yep looks like its Docsis 3.0 time soon. Verizon FIOS vs Time Warner Docsis 3.0 around here.
Sounds like they are updating the tools. Interesting why this was the first sign. But nevertheless, it does look like DOCSIS 3.0 for NYC is going forward.
Docsis 3.0 is 100MBPS.
Should not be too long from now till its offered. They said by December 2009. It is now June 30th. |

It goes UP To 100MBPS in the Speed test. Previously it was 20MBPS tops.
Reason for it being updated is Docsis 3.0.
patt2k's modem and screenshot are irrelevant.
Anyone can go to »speedtest.nyc.rr.com/ and see the 100Mbps.
It previously was 20Mbps as patt2k said.
Those who subscribe to Docsis 3.0 when offered will have the higher speed tiers. Such will require a higher price and a modem swap.
As to when this happens, my guess is its being rolled out as we speak and will show up shortly. I wonder if it will be a market by market rollout or whatnot. Such appears to be in play for the NYC market. |

| reply to patt2k Well since sometime my connection really sucks I am on turbo and time warner knows about the node issue since February
but in my area there is at least 2 other nodes which are FINE
20x better then the node I am on.
here are screens but I dont think anyone can help me with this tho

as Of 4:55 PM New York Time Speed Test
mornings are usually the same. nights even worse

What Can I do to make them split the node?
or would it be possible that they put me on different node?

2 edits | I am on Earthlink Cable. It also shows the 100Mbps.
My connection is lagging really bad today. Hoping for 100Mbps and hoping for better peering to go with it.
Im not sure what the modem diagnostic stuff means but I know no connection is perfect.
Docsis 3.0 should hold a better connection I would hope. |

Watch NYC come out with two speeds, regular road runner at 30/2. And turbo at like 70/5 or something, just for the fact of competition.
See the low upload? Its just a given since RR has never been the company to EVER give any good speeds.
I mean I remember the day it became available in Queens, and I told my friend on OOL who had 10000/1000 speeds that I would kick his connections ass. Well I was wrong because they started at 2000/256. What a jip this company has been and will always be. |

For one of their largest subscriber base, they can't even manage to get 10/512 -15/768 - 20/1 correct. You really think they're going to get docsis 3 tiers correct? -- The more you talk, the less you listen. |
