Protesters Downtown LA

My wife and I were down in Little Tokyo today and as I was circling for parking I went maybe above(?) 1st Street and there were hordes of pro-life protesters on the south side of the street.

I know why they were there, of course, but what/who were they protesting in front of? Is there some organization there, like Planned Parenthood?

Also, when protesting, is *everything* allowable in regards to images? They had their huge signs with the stock grisly graphics they are so wont to throw about. If I were to protest a certain church for child molestation, could I blow up pictures of torn anuses and parade them around? I'm thinking no.

And yes, ylen, I know about the 1st Amendment.

That's an excellent idea. How long will it take to get the signs printed? I know where I can rent a pope costume.

They are within their right. If the signs bother people, good, like smokers and the pictures they complain about, the truth often hurts.

I don't agree with many things of the Cathlioc Church either, but mocking their leader and making fun of their beliefs is not too cool, I hope you would think twice before doing that.

Sometimes spelled Catholic.

I wasn't objecting to their beliefs. It's the actions of certain of the church's clergy and hierarchy which resulted in the molestation of children to which I object. My comments were not anti-religion, but if you want we can go there.

We have those guys (and they are ALWAYS middle aged guys--no women) at the PP in our hood. It's disgusting.

One day we had some of these nuts on campus with their 'large posters'... Honestly made me want to cry. Sometimes its not what you say but how you say it; 100% USDA prime assholes.

just for reference, what's up in the little tokyo area? is it another PP, or are they protesting a decision at the federal court?

frankly, you could use the torn anus signs around those guys too.

That gal has about as much hair on her arms as I do.

(And I could make a small dog with mine.)

Re: Protesters Downtown LA

True story...

In college, I went to the free clinic for my yearly checkup and to get my pills. I was physically assaulted by two of the "pro-lifers" and prevented from entering the clinic. The two assholes got year in jail (served less).

These jerkoffs are not just exercising free speech - they prevent the operation of medical clinics that also provide OTHER SERVICES. And last time I checked, abortion was legal. You might not like it, you may disagree, but when you physically prevent someone from receiving legal medical care, I don't care what side of whatever issue you are on, you are wrong. I will not be screamed at or barred from entering MY CHOICE OF MEDICAL PROVIDER for services that are NONE OF YOUR DAMN BUSINESS.

If you want to exercise your free speech, stay out of my crotch.

I have no idea - that's what I was asking.
