| This sort of sucks! If I block data completely, WiFi is still available yes? I remember now, the $30/Month charge is for "unlimited" 3g. Just like the almost forced $5.00/Mo is for 200 SMS messages; otherwise it's $.20/Msg, which runs up the bill very quickly. Highway robbery if you ask me.
Can't wait till VZ supports the iPhone! This was OK while I had some decent income, but now, with the economy as it is, I simply can't afford these "luxuries" any longer. So, it seems blocking all data is the only practical and secure way of shedding the $30/mo fee.

So, this is no-option!
The only possible way to get around this seems to be to get another provider, one which can be accessed by a jailbroken iPhone, get a free/cheap phone from them, transfer my number to the new provider, and then jailbreak the iPhone and put it on the new service.

You can do that, but you will incur the Early Termination Fee from AT&T.
Can you afford that, in this economic climate?
