| can't get to much of the internet
seems like half the internet is gone! I can get here and many other places but about half the websites I try are not available.
I don't think it is a problem with my setup it looks like trouble in Denver. Here is my tracert to Ebay

| So are you not able to get to ebay? I am but im also showing the same in the traceroute.
Could be that is where the site is hosted. What other sites are you having problems with? I haven't really noticed and sites not showing up. DNS is a bit slow (i am using OpenDNS) but other than that, everything is fine here.

| reply to stevebass7 I can get to eBay on the web, but trace route times out for me. I get a local router (less then 15 ms away), then nothing but time outs. What this is telling me is that eBay is not responding to trace route packets. Therefore, trace route is a pretty useless tool for troubleshooting connectivity problems to eBay.
Can you try another DNS server? Simple way to test is 'nslookup' from a command prompt. Type in 'nslookup www.ebay.com', and post the result. Then, if you don't get an IP address, if you get a 'host not found' type error, try again, thus: 'nslookup www.ebay.com 4.2.2.1'. The first command will use the ATTIS DNS servers, the second will use the Level 3 DNS server.
The tests should look like these: My first result is using the default ATTIS 'Anycast' DNS server at [68.94.156.1], while the second is using the Level 3 DNS server at [4.2.2.1]. If the ATTIS DNS server is not finding the host, but the Level 3 DNS server is, the ATTIS DNS server has gone south.
