WIFI-X-TENDER is not a magical mystery product ...
Convenient disclaimer.

said by Dubious_Website :

Simply put, the WIFI-X-TENDER helps to concentrate and focus the wireless signalto your wireless antenna that is built into your laptop or cell phone, or any other wireless device.
But notice how they are describing their non-magical simple product ... gullible customers could actually believe weak RF signal will be "amplified" when it passes through this tape ... but of course they will insist they never made such false claims.

When antenna gain increases in one particular direction by attaching a passive reflector (or lense), it follows that the gain has also decreased in many other directions.

Customers could finalize tape location after some experiements i one room and be disappointed when they move to another room ... or the neighbourhood Starbucks. The company could refuse to refund
by arguing tape was applied to "sub-optimal" location.

Anyway where would you stick this tape on a typical all-in-one WISP CPE? Obstructing the patch antenna or behind the ground plane?

We really should not encourage anyone to buy into this scam. There are much better ways to spend $20 during the summer.

What better way to not encourage anyone to buy a widget than to start new threads about old dead threads about said widget!
