| I am not paying for MJ's memorial!
The news said that we are going to have to pay for 700 cops to control traffic Tuesday for that pedophile's memorial at Staples.
The city is broke and they want us to pay for OT for cops for this? The Jackson family can pay if they want this but not me dammit! |

| reply to 81399672 He paid off several accusers and used his "mob" to intimidate and bully the families. I think he was a pedophile and I will call him one. Staples Center or Nokia is where they are going to have the memorial. I do not believe my tax money should go to pay the OT for the police to control the event. I pay LA City taxes.
BTW, Staples is charging $25 bucks to enter. That money should go to pay the police, not mine. -- I've been on more laps than a napkin.

| reply to SOLdesign The attention given MJ passed absurd long ago. We've had over a week of nonstop reporting on his death and it still leads every news cast - like nothing important is going on in the rest of the state or the world. I can't believe the people acting like their world has come to an end - they desperately need a life. It's no wonder California is in such a mess. |

| I was with you right up to the last sentence, mers2 . Unfortunately, the silliness surrounding this nutcase is not confined to California. We're just hosting one of the premier silly events. |

I'm so relieved that Alaska's governor announced she is resigning, if for no other reason, it gives the media something else to focus on than MJ... MJ... MJ... MJ...

" People who do not have a ticket should stay away and watch the event on television, a Los Angeles police official said.
The Los Angeles city government will provide security for the event, despite a budget crisis, said Los Angeles Councilwoman Jan Perry, who is acting mayor while Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa is out of the country."

| Staples, 10A Tuesday. There's an online lottery for ~8000 pairs of free tickets, though I think parking will be expensive.
