Does heat affect/cause DSL drops

I am having issues with dropping service (6m extreme) several times a day (sometimes 5 or 6 or more) They seem to start around mid-day, but seem to be less at night. Could I have an issue with some heat affecting the DSL?

I honestly do not recall if I had the trouble during the Winter last year, I suppose it could be affected by either hot or cold weather extremes.

Thanks.

My service is fed from under all the back to the CO. Never had an issue. I haven't heard of temperature being an issue above ground either. Not to say it is impossible.

Temperature can affect a marginal line or a partial trouble. Copper wires expand and contract with temperature changes.

Temp can also cause problems with dslams mounted at remote locations. They can over heat causing the cards to shut off or burn out. Some dslams also have a temp. monitor on them that will shut the power off to the dslam if it over heats. In my area we have one that has over heated when the ac in the hut when out, this caused the dslam to shut of during the hotter part of the day and come back on at night.
