Re: Dsl Extreme ripped off

You need to send George that information by IM. Please do not post personal information here as this is a public board.

To send George an IM just click on the little yellow envelope at the bottom of his post. Add your info and click send.

I would be happy to take a look at your account for you and ensure that your line is getting the highest speed that it can hold without losing sync and remaining stable. Please feel free to send me a PM with your DSL Extreme account information.

Thanks

The reason I posted here was the fact that I have contacted DSLEXTREME about 5 or 6 times and they cannot seem to up the speed I 'am right on the low side of my contract.I guess my real question is if they have a customer that has called several time with no conclusion Why don't they just Ok sorry we will disconnect you. End of story

You agreed to a contract. By canceling the service(Especially without troubleshooting the issue) you are violating the terms of the contract. Nobody is trying to rob you or take advantage of you.

I can sympathize with the fact that the DSL is not working but overall this is a support forum and not a place to come and make outlandish accusations.

Why dont you post what the problem is (I.E Sync no surf or no sync) and what troubleshooting you have done to this point and see what DSLEXTREME can do for you.

Their 250 dollar charge is not 'their' fault, it's ATTs. ATT charges DSLX, in which case passes that 'charge' onto you, to the best of my knowledge anyway.

To have to pay 250.00 to quit is robbery and beleive me I will never use there service once it is over it does not cost them 250.00 to diconnect

Can you provide more info? You should refer to the DSLEXTREME User agreement before making claims like this as most people do get what they pay for even if it isnt what they wanted.

I am sure DSLX_GM would be happy to work with you and do everything possible to get the maximum speed the line can handle.

14. SPEED OF SERVICE. Speed rate depends upon the Subscriber's Plan and line capabilities (e.g., loop length, line condition, gauge of copper wire and Phone Company provisioning). The maximum speed for ADSL is stated under optimal conditions and may vary significantly. Speeds are subject to a 20% overhead (e.g., 768k stated speed = 768k times 80% throughput = 614k actual speed). Minimum speeds are offered for a AT&T Subscriber and are based on the package's listed minimum speed minus 20% overhead (e.g., 384-1500k/128-256k stated speed = 384k times 80% throughput = 307k actual speed.) Actual speeds that fit the 80% of the minimum throughput criteria are considered acceptable. A Verizon, Covad or Qwest Subscriber has no minimum speeds. All Services are provided on an AS IS basis and throughput speeds are not guaranteed.
