| reply to Bytebender Re: Modem/router - New router = No Access to Modem
Use the USB port on the westell 6100. assign 192.168.1. 1XX for ip address. XX is any number I use the USB port to check the modem stats. since i cannot access the modem though the router westell 6100f in bridge mode and a linksys WRT54g PPoE setting |

| reply to Lmvine your PC has to be within the same IP address range as the target router to access it from the LAN side. one way is to connect your PC directly to the 6100 and give the PC a static IP in the 192.168.2-254 range, (with a default gateway of 192.168.1.1 and a subnet mask of 255.255.255.0). -- reboot, reset, reconfigure, then recycle. |

1 edit | Using a 6100 modem in bridge mode & changed from a Netgear router to a Buffalo WHR-HP-G54. It works fine but can't log into modem to get stats. The Buffalo uses »192.168.11.1/ but can't get to modem stats or ability to change anything on modem.
Modem access »192.168.1.1 which worked previously with the Netgear now reports "Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage".
I've tried other URLs for the modem but to no avail.
How do I get modem access?? |
