I just got a macbook pro and my westell 327w doesn't play nice with the wifi, how can I set-up the d-link strictly as an access point and the westell only as a modem, thank you for any help. |

| Are you sure that's what you want?
If the 327 is only a modem, and d-link is only an AP, then you don't have a router and can only connect one computer.
I'm thinking that you really want the d-link as a router and AP, with the Westell as just a modem.
If my guess is right, then first turn of wireless in the 327w. Then go to the multiple PVC settings page, and configure the 327w as an unrouted bridge.
After that, connect one of the LAN ports of the Westell to the WAN port of the d-link. If your ISP uses PPPoE, then you will need to configure the PPPoE settings in the d-link. If your ISP uses DHCP to supply a public IP, you might need to call them to release the IP you currently have so that it can be assigned to the d-link instead of to the Westell. Try it first, and if you have trouble getting an IP, then give them a call. -- AT&T dsl; Speedstream 5100b modem; openSuSE 11.0; firefox 3.0.11 |

| Then I misunderstood what you wanted.
On the 327w, disable wireless.
On the D-link, make sure that the LAN ip or the router is 192.168.1.something (I suggest 100 for the something). Disable DHCP on the D-link. Connect a LAN port of the Westell to a LAN port of the D-link. You might need to use a crossover cable for that.
The the D-link should be working as just an AP (and bridge for using its LAN ports). -- AT&T dsl; Speedstream 5100b modem; openSuSE 11.0; firefox 3.0.11 |
