I'm in Worcester, MA, and my options for tv service are quite limited because charter has a monopoly here and won't let fios or comcast in. my only other option is dish, but I live in an apt. and I doubt they'll let me do that. We've had problems from day one, and rarely a week goes by without me on the phone with someone.

Most apartments have a multi-dwelling plan for either Dish or DIRECTV. Check it out and see if you can qualify. Your apartment manager should be able to tell you, and if not, then the satellite provider should be able to let you know.

charter does not have the monopoly, it is actually the city that does. the city has a special cable committee that votes on the issue. if you want something done about it. petition the cable committee. they just renewed Charter's contract for 5 more years so i don't see anything happening right away. but if there is a big enough outcry they may.
