I'm in the Kendall Miami Area, South Florida. Lately, I've been experiencing abnormal speed tests on various sites, but the funniest one has to be speedtest.net. Check it out:
This happen to anyone lately? I am baffled to be honest, no way in hell one can achieve speeds like that on an 8/2 plan! |

@comcast.net | Yep - I've been getting insane results as well. Typically in the 50-70 Mbps range but sometimes much much higher. I'm thinking they have an issue with their testing.  |

As in, your machine or some machine between you and the site is caching the data speedtest.net is "downloading". On the up side, you now know what your disk read (or local network) speed is

Something to do with the DOC SIS 3.0 roll out? Its going online in areas around here. Maybe Kendall is one of them?

1 edit | I saw a YouTube video of a guy in MS who was getting over 100MB/s tests on Speakeasy consistently, and claimed to not have changed anything in his system.
I know that since the Docsis3 rollout here that my 12/2 tier regularly tests twice or better on some (Speakeasy, Speedtest) sites, as well as Comcast's own speedtest. I have to say, though that my upload speeds are far greater than1.5M. Highest on a couple of sites is 9+M for upload!
I'd say, just watch it over time; see if it stays, and don't complain, if you notice that your surfing is fast.

Maryland Eastern shore is getting Docsis 3.0 within 1-2 weeks.
I just bought a Motorola SB6120 and am channel bonding on the download already.
