is comcastspecial.com legit or a scam?

I'm thinking about making the switch over to comcast from verizon dsl, trying to find the best deal.

seems like at »www.comcastspecial.com/, they offer 6 months for $20 (which comcast offers regularly), but they offer a rebate, free modem, and free wifi router as well, which seems like an awesome deal.

has anyone gone through comcastspecial before? any feedback? what type of modem and router do they give for free if they in fact do?

thanks

I am also looking to switch my voice and DSL from Verizon to Comcast. I've looked around and had also seen this site. I don't know if it is legit.

But I was at Walmart the other week and a Comcast guy had a table setup and was offering a similar deal. He said I could get voice and 16m internet for $50 a month for 12 months! And he was going to throw in $125 in rebates too. I wasn't ready to make the switch at that particular moment. I'm going to head back over there on weekends to see if he comes back.

I wouldn't trust it..

note all the different addresses and phone numbers for the domain contact "Channon Terence". Smells like a spamhouse operation.

rlee - being that we're both trying to do the same thing (switch from VZ) please keep me posted on what you end up doing and the costs. I'll do the same.

I can't vouch for that particular company, but there are authorized resellers all over the place, some have websites. They look legit to me.

looks like i'll probably just go through comcast and not a 3rd party affiliate. it does seem too good to be true, i rather not go through any troubles. comcast offers the 6 month for 19.99 anyways. i'm waiting to see how my verizon dsl acts in the next few weeks

I've used ComcastOffers.com twice in the past with success both times... The rebate comes fairly quick as well.

I've used ComcastOffers.com 3 times in the last 4 years and it's been fine.

Fancy that you're from San Jose too

Nothing not to trust. They take basic information and then shuttle you over to Comcast to complete the order process.

I've used comcastoffers.com before, once last year. I'm in San Jose too. Seems like us people in San Jose like comcastoffers.com. Rebate came quickly and still got the same monthly prices that going directly through Comcast would've got me.

I called Comcast today and placed the order to switch from VZ phone and internet to Comcast CDV and HSI. Install is scheduled for Saturday the 19th. We'll see what happens. Crossing my fingers that I don't have any problems with Comcast. Been a VZ customer since the beginning of time.

Comcast gave me CDV/HSi double play for $62.94 a month for 12 months, then it goes up to $85.90 a month. A bit expensive when it goes up in a year, but I have a year to try and figure out what I'm gonna do when that time comes.
