| GN bought out SN many months back and fired Jeremy plus everyone else that was running that backend. I don't expect to ever see SN running as a separate service again, they will be just another GN reseller/relabel. Which for the price is not a bad thing in this case IMHO. |

NewsgroupRev Premium join:2008-06-25 | Kalone, did Supernews get it taken care of for you? I noticed someone else mention on Slickdeals that their confirmation email showed $11.99 but they logged into Supernews and the billing amount was correct at $9.99. |

| No would not answer my email, so I canceled the account. I will have to pay the $11.99, so I tried it out. Speed is very slow at night. Retention is right on and they have headers for the 350, no support. Astraweb has them beat speed and support wise. What a way to get customers! |

UPDATE, Supernews had a problem with a link on the Special web page, they now have that corrected and I feel very sure you will be charged the correct amount of $9.99 per month. If you need to contact support use the link on Supernews web page. On a general question I asked, Support responded to me in less than 30 minutes on a Saturday. Thanks NewsgroupRev for your assistance, and this is a great offer for a GN farm server. |

So is there a reason why Supernews only claims 350 day retention, whereas Giganews has 440+ days? Is Giganews putting some sort of filter on its servers for SN subscribers? |

1 edit | reply to NewsgroupRev Not sure they are resellers, since GN owns and operates them, there is no 3rd party. I find that these other services work very well, but I only get about half my 20 mbps d/l speed in prime time with any of them. So their "cheap news" servers are not for me. Anyone else notice this or does my ISP just not like GN?
With Astraweb or UNS I max out my connection during prime time. |

|
kalone Premium join:2002-07-02 Lexington, KY | Yes, used all 30, no improvement. Astraweb and UNS 10-14 connections. |
|
NewsgroupRev Premium join:2008-06-25 | My connection caps around 10 mbps so all the services mentioned max out but it takes more connections for Supernews than Giganews, Astraweb or UNS.
