Wow - I thought this was just my issue lately. I have experienced the exact same thing. Just decided to contact AT&T this morning about the issue - then saw this post afterward - how coincidental!

The AT&T tech first tried to give me the old "these are just common errors you see when browsing the Internet" line of bull. After I protested, they immediately said "oh, you must manually set your DNS servers on your computers." Fortunately, after doing so, things have seemed to return to normal.

It seems obvious that this is a known issue with AT&T/2Wire firmware that is not being addressed upfront.

Yes, it does seem AT&T is aware of these problems but is choosing to stay quiet about them. If you look in the AT&T Direct forum, there are 4 "sticky" posts about DNS problems (including Uverse, which also uses 2wire): »/forum/sbcdirect
Unfortunately, that forum is post-only, so only the AT&T techs have access to whatever info/workarounds/etc are contained therein.
