I pre-ordered this a while ago on Amazon since I had liked the Wii version and thought enhanced graphics on the PC would just make it that better. Plus I was excited at the new modes and levels...
Since the Torrent came out yesterday I got it and thank god I did, because I canceled the pre-order and uninstalled that piece of shit.
It's a terrible PC port - considering they had over a year, this is unacceptable, especially for the price they`re asking. No graphics options, disgusting load times in-between menus...FPS is locked at 30 FPS (wtf???)... the controls are horrible, camera problems...
If I had not gotten the torrent I would have spent 50$ on a game that is terrible and LucasArt would have gotten my money, since no shop accepts returns of opened PC games (and yet you need to open it to test it...)
Stay away! |

4 edits | It's 14GB because of all the 720p FMV's. (The full install is actually like 24GB)
I'm not very happy when a PC game doesn't include options besides resolution. However, the game still looks decent on the PC. It looks better then the console versions. While it may not look amazing - The game has a certain style to the graphics and the hand drawn / painted background art that really does a good job at produces a fairly good looking game on what seems to be a massive scale. Almost everything in the enviroment can be thrown around and broken apart as well. I just wasn't a fan of the swordplay mechanics to be honest. You goto slice people in half with your sword and they just get launched and die or just fall over. It's not like the newer Jedi Knight games where body parts come off. However, it's still pretty satisfying to force grab someone and launch them into a lava pit.
The game wasn't too bad - But I uninstalled it because I just didn't find it to be that much fun.
Also note, if you un-installed the game before completing the first stupid darth vader intro mission - I would re-install and at least get through to where you actually start playing the game. The darth vader intro is not very impressive. (No leveling up, the level itself looks really crappy compared to what you'll see later in the game, vader is slow and not to much fun to play as) -- THIS IS SPENCER. MISSION ACCOMPLISHED - I HAVE JOE. RETURNING TO BASE. |

| reply to TigerLord I finished it on the Wii (which had terrible graphics tbh) and played the PC version up to after the first mission (when you're dropped on a ship and a Rebel General made a trap for you).
The cutscenes are splendid: superb quality, some of the best cutscenes I've seen in a game, they really did justice to the SW saga there... but the gameplay itself wasn't good.
If I had not just replayed Jedi Outcast recently I might have felt recently...yeah Force Unleashed is pretty (tbh it does look very good, I think it uses the same engine as Batman Arkham Asylum, which I think is the UT3 engine? In any case it was quite beautiful, far superior than the Wii version for sure, and the 360 from what I had seen.
Jedi Academy and Jedi Knight (both games) were incredible. Saber fights were good, you had 3 styles and actual moves and strategies you could use. Force Unleashed makes you feel terribly powerful (especially in the end when you have force lightning and you can pwn an AT-AT in a few seconds like it was a soccer ball) but playing it on hard settings on PC really made it frustrating when the stupid camera doesn't lock where you tell it to lock, or when you try to throw an object 50% of the time it will ignore your direction and just go left no matter what you do... meanwhile all it takes is 3-4 laser hits to die, which is realistic to say the least.
If you're a die hard fan of SW you might appreciate it, if only for the nice graphics and cutscenes. But I was disapointed, compared to Jedi Academy and Jedi Outcast, it's a sub-par game. |

The game makers are padding their games with these videos for the sole purpose of making the game large and painful to download and pirate. |
