i only get 404 error message page not found when i type in my ip address. A 404 error indicates you are getting to a web server, but web server does not recognize the path to the page (the part of the URL to the right of the slash following the IP address).
There should not be anything to the right of the IP address when you first connect to the router's login page.
You said "i type in my ip address". I hope you meant the IP address of the router rather than the IP address of your PC (which is what is sounds like).
I'm assuming that you can get to the internet okay.
The default IP address of the Westell 1900EM is 192.168.1.1, so you should be entering the following into the address line of your browser:
If that does not get you to the login page of the router, try the following:
•Try clearing your browser cache.
•At a Windows CMD prompt, enter:
That will display the IP address of your PC. It should be 192.168.1.x, where x is other than 1.
•If your PC has a 192.168.1.x address and you still can not get to 192.168.1.1, do a hard reset on the router. |
