Necronomicon @bell.ca	Can a loose screw inside a speaker damage it ? I have a Logitech Z-5500 system that i bought in a Pawn shop for 140 $ (used to work there so i got a great deal ). It's in good condition and all the speakers and sub works flawlessly but i'm a little worried bout something. One of the rear speakers has a loose screw inside of it , the one that was previously in the hole at the back of the speaker. Dunno how the hell the previous owner managed to fuck up but apparently he tried to mount it on a wall when it happened. Now my question is : Is it safe to use the speaker with it inside ? Can the loose screw cause a short circuit since it's metal and damage the electronics ? Also , does anyone knows if it's possible to open up the speaker ? I tried but there only seem to be 4 sort of rubber screw at the front and they don't feel like they want to come out and i'm afraid to rip them off if i force to much. Thanks

Jahntassa What, I can have feathers Premium join:2006-04-14 Conway, SC	Depends. Usually a screw will just attach to the back of the magnet. I don't believe there's any electronics in those speakers other than the wires going to the speaker element itself. I believe, like most speakers, you would need to pull out the rubber 'stoppers' which hold in the protective screen in order to get to the actual screws.
